- Ok. Here's the scoop:
-
- I have three machines I am trying to network together:
-
- 1) Amiga 3000 with Village Tronic Ariadne board and AmiTCP 4.0
- 2) PC running NT with NE2000 knockoff board.
- 3) Sparc 10/40 running Solaris 2.4
-
- In the middle is a Celan 8 port hub.
-
- The PC and the Sparc talk. No problem.
- Neither will talk to the Amiga.
-
- The Amiga doesn't seem to want to send anything out the port. Sanadevstat
- always reports no traffic, even when I am pinging other machines.
-
- The Amiga doesn't seem to listen either, except for one peculiar synario:
- If the Amiga is pinging either the PC or the Sun and the Sun or the PC
- just happens to be pinging the Amiga, the Amiga will receive part of the
- ARP packet. Ex: If the Amiga is pinging the Sun and the PC is pinging
- the Amiga, the Amiga will add a record to it's ARP table consisting of the
- Sun's ip number but no ethernet address.
-
- I have tried hard codeing the PC and Sun ethernet address into the Amiga's
- ARP table. Then, when I try to ping the PC or Sun, I get an error saying
- that the buffer is full.
-
- Has anyone else seen this problem? Failing that, does anyone know of a
- way to contact Village Tronic other than snail mail (very slow) or
- telephone (expensive and an exercise is sleep deprivation)
